The Wheels in Motion

Well, I almost lost my wallet. Notice the "almost". Weee, that was fun. Half way back on campus from Starbucks, I realize the back of my backpack is open and my wallet is missing! I rush back to Starbucks, where thankfully someone turned it in. I swear to god, I did not need that stress! But, thankfully someone was looking out for me and turned it in there...*silent sigh of relief*

I'm thinking maybe next weekend sometime going out with Marina and Robin to do some thrift store shopping. Not like I really need the clothes or anything, but I think Marina should experience thrift store shopping here in America, especially in Santa Barbara. I would invite my other Japanese friend Yukiko, but supposedly there is some animocity between UCSB extension people and those who actually go to the UCSB campus. Those who go to the actual campus feel that those who go to extension are getting off easy, being able to come here and learn English--not having to take the rigorous placement exams. I could see where they are coming from, but it is unfortunate that my two friends can't really hang out with eachother that much. Maybe I should just force them to hang out with eachother? >:D

The Wheels of Japan are getting in motion, I can feel it. Today I went to STA travel and signed up for a Student Card that gets me discounts on various things, but most importantly, flights! >_> As soon as I hear back from Vivian of whether or not I go can go to Japan early, and if the Intensive Language Progam Housing would accept me a few days early, I am going to order my tickets. I really can't wait around too much longer if I want to avoid going too much over $1000. God, why does Japan have to be so damn expensive?! Grrrr.

I am also not sure as to what do about a job over the summer. I only have a little less than a month and a half at home before I get carted off to Japan...and who would really hire me for that short amount of time? Well, hopefully I will be able to find something, but hopefully I would like to work inbetween part and full time. I would work full time, but I have to give myself to begin the difficult process of packing. Packing for Japan will be extremely...tricky. I mean, in addition to clothes issues, there is also that of other suplies. Of course, I will bring my computer that goes without saying...I also plan on bringing my watercolors and watercolor paper and brushes. I am an artist at heart, I can't just give these things up, can I?

Just a little over three months away...how did time pass so quickly?

lost things, japan
