I have successfully converted 
Bianca to Firefly love. We watched Serenity on Saturday and then I lent her my DVD's and she is obsessed!!! Excellent!
Speaking of Firefly this makes me all kinds of giggly and giddy! Oh Nathan!
Tomorrow I have an exam for my Psychology of Women class and the chapter on love relationships had some really interesting ideas...including this little tidbit, which was a demonstration to show how pervasive heterosexist thinking is and to encourage people to question the heterosexist framework:
1. Suppose that you are walking to class at your college and you see a man and a woman kissing. Do you think, "Why are they flaunting their heterosexuality?"
2. Close your eyes and picture two women kissing each other. Does that kiss seem sexual or affectionate? Now close your eyes and imagine a woman and a man kissing each other. Does your evaluation of that kiss change?
3. Suppose that you have an appointment with a female professor. When you arrive in her office, you notice that she is wearing a wedding ring and has a photo of herself and a man smiling at each other. Do you say to yourself, "Why is she shoving her heterosexuality in my face?"
4. If you are heterosexual, has anyone asked you, "Don't you think that heterosexuality is just a phase you'll outgrow once you are older?"
5. In all the public debates you've heard about sexual orientation, have you ever heard anyone ask any of the following questions:
a) The divorce rate among heterosexuals is now about 50%. Why don't heterosexuals have more stable love relationships?
b) Why are heterosexual men so likely to sexually harass or rape women?
c) What really causes heterosexuality?
Just some food for thought.
In a semi-related note will hopefully be going to the Toronto Pride Parade this weekend! It was much fun last year, despite poor Bianca's heatstroke!
Last exam for psych tomorrow, then I have to get my ass in gear working on English, especially the essay.
