Wow, I just had the most amazing day at work! We had an "all-day" staff meeting, but it turned out much better than the half-dayers we've had before. It was a lot of venting and joking around for most of the morning, then off to lunch around 12. At 12:30, we had a bit more training and "real stuff", then on to the Jeopardy finals--a championship match between the teams that had won the rounds earlier this morning. Except we never actually played jeopardy this afternoon, because one of the doctors came upstairs and told us he would make a deal with us. If we could answer three questions--together, as a team--we could leave early. All forty of us put our heads together, answered the questions, and were on our way. But not before being handed cards from the doctors. Each of us received an "end of summer" bonus as a form of thanks for the crazy, hectic summer we've put up with. Inside, we each received a $50 bill. So, not only do I have this afternoon off with pay--I also have an extra $50 in my pocket. I would just like to say how much I love my job! I don't know how I got so lucky, but I promised I wouldn't waste this afternoon inside. I'm off to enjoy myself now!
