Sakuracon is coming up soon - end of April - and I am contemplating cosplaying Namine. I may reprise Adachi for the inevitable Persona/Megaten photoshoot, but I'd like to do something else. It is surprisingly easy to fuck up a Namine costume, which is both strange and not at all so given its simplicity. The needful items:
Dress - not sure what to make this out of. It needs to be soft enough to be comfortable, sturdy enough to maintain its shape, and opaque enough to wear on its own. When I was contemplating this on Plurk, mythicbeast suggested some embroidery or the like for visual interest, which I quite like. (Bonus: this has the potential to be used as an underdress for Kairi cosplay.)
Sandals - blue with flowers. Can prolly hunt for something serviceable, possible to alter sandals into appropriate color/adornment.
White underwear - lol.
Wig - blonde, will need cutting/styling.
Neutral makeup - careful black (or brown) eyeliner + mascara, light pink lips (maybe a stain or not uber-shiny gloss). Neutral toes. Matte face. Blush?
Bucket of crayons - crayons I have. Bucket for ease of carrying would be good.
Sketchbook with perforated pages - for drawing and tearing out pages to give to people. Namine-style simple drawings or something more mine? Could carry business cards to give with drawings.
