Official update number 1!
Hola!
Hi hi from Barcelona Spain! Up to something like day number 6 of the tour *like i have any idea of what dayt it is at the moment). Things are going great - we havent managed to get too lost so far. Kicked around London for first day - big thanks to Frost, Alexa and Rob for lookin after us. Note to everyone out there - just cos the flight is cheapest - its probably not the best option. 2 stopovers - and we were fragged.... Jetlag wasnt too bad tho - we struggled through the day.
Had a good coupla days in Madrid - not too touristy there - and the language was a battle. We did soooo much walking - i hjad the blisters coming up quickly.. Barca now - a lot more touristy here - and that has its own traps. Leaving an "Aussie" pub the other night - (blind drunk mind you) some bloke started shaking my hand and brushing up against me. Yes - he managed to get my wallet. No mum - i dont need cash - i just snarled and figured somethiung was wrong and saw it in other guys hand and snatched it back. Trev - another of the boys had the same thing happen with his phone. Lesson learnt - hands in pockets at all times....
And bullfights. Hmm. I was warned not to go - but i went. Glad i did - b ut i could never ever go again. I did a lot of turning away and the like. Did make some friends there who shared their wine and whiskey with me. Until i insulted them at the end by following the crowd and throwing my cushion. Apparently not the done thing. Meh - they were ok about it - but i wish i hadnt done it now.
Checked out some fascinating buildings here - churches and the like - with the unfinished Gaudio one tomorrow hopefully... Tryinmg to talk two of the lads into looking at churches has been as much of a challenge as deciding where to eat. Is it in English? Are there pictures? It costs too much... Dammit - as some of you probn know - ill eat practically anything - so ive given up suggesting. we just power past all these delightful spanish cafe's and settle for some crappy thing. Oh well - tis all good.
Czech republic in a day or 2 - just as we are almost learning a lil spanish - and now we have to learn Czech. Dont know if ill even try.
Abnout all i can think of to post for the moment - everything is going swimmingly - ill check back in when i can.
