Have you ever noticed that people are SUPER connected these days but at the same time we are completely disconnected as a society from our communities, from any sort of deep connection? It feels at times as if everyone is micromanaging their relationships with twitter and up to the minute running commentary on their day, but that people are more ( Read more... )

Tharsos...that depends on the conversation. If it's at work, I prefer email simply for the "paper" trail that it leaves. Always like to CMA on anything to do with work!! But, yes there are downfalls to technology and I do notice that the next generation is lonelier...they get lost in their video games while they chat on MSN with friends and strangers alike. But I also notice that these tools are used to set social events in motion as well. Those who know how to use the technology can MSN their friends who can text those not on the computer (or if they have an iphone or a blackberry, it doesn't matter) and make plans to get together...that's a good thing. I do remember calling one friend and then calling another friend and then calling back the first friend who had called another friend...well you get the picture. It really is easier now to pull a gathering together.
Sora...I know that the days sometimes run into one another when you're a stay at home mom...but your babies will grow up way too fast and you will find that you will have plenty of time to pursue other interests once they have. Enjoy them and let them enjoy you...it's the best gift you could give each other.
