I would like to thank matttheminion for bringing the following to my attention.
There is a CNN article about the supposed "economic stimulus package." Thing is there is something wrong...
The checks are an advance on next year's refunds, and most, if not all of the money, will be deducted from taxpayers' refunds in 12 months' time.
This phrase was part of the article, or at least when he read it. By the time I got to in just after 1pm, this phrase was not in the article at all!
I did some googling, and found This blog entry, posted at 11:56am today, which is a direct copy of the CNN article. Thing is the phrase about the advance is MISSING from the CNN article which was updated ~28 minutes ago as of time stamp on this entry.
I am quite bothered by this development and not sure what to do.
