weird al issues

Back in March I was informed that Weird Al was to play at the new Amphitheatre at Sandcastle formerly located at Station Square. For some reason the venue owners felt that moving it was a good idea. Thanks to an excellent tip, I was able to score pre order tickets through Artist Arena. I ended up in the third row. So awesome! I'd never seen Al that close before.

April 19th, I get another tip that the Sandcastle venue would not be opening this season. Would the concert be relocated? What would happen to my tickets? There was a sea of questions.

April 23rd, I get yet another tip regarding the new venue, the Byham Theater. That was great news, but the issue of my tickets was still up in the air. Within the week, I emailed Artist Arena and did not receive a response, not even a form email. I called Artist Arena and they didn't know what was going on, but they said they would contact pre order people soon.

May 9th I received an email from Artist Arena informing me of the venue change but no word on where my tickets would be relocated to.

Today, May 18th tickets went on sale to the public. saberpilot gleefully posted about her acquisition of tickets. And they are really good seats too which reminded me, I still had not heard from Artist Arena about the actual location of my new seats. So I called them.

During this call I made a complaint regarding the lack of information and my upset that I was not contacted about my new seats BEFORE tickets went on sale to the public. I was informed of my new seats but something seemed really off. I was not happy at all given my new seats. It didn't make any sense.

So I made more phone calls. I will say right now, the Byham Theater Box Office has their act together and they are exceedingly helpful people. While they couldn't confirm my actual seats, they provided me with excellent information regarding what seats went on sale today. I need to write a thank you letter.

I made even more calls to Artist Arena to complain about the lack of communication, my dissatisfaction with my new seat etc. The guy put me on hold mid story. That was very not cool. I was unhappy and while refraining from yelling at them I was certain speaking in a very irritated voice. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy thought I was insane.

In short there was a simple miscommunication what could have saved me some stress and phone calls had I just asked for clarification of the row letter using Names. We all know that there a many letters that are easily misheard. *BLUSH* Many thanks to blackpaladin for being a calm 3rd party calling to confirm the actual location of the tickets.

In the end the seats I have are very acceptable replacements. I am still dissatisfied with how Artist Arena handled the transfer. They did not provide new ticket information to buyers prior to general public ticket sales. They did not provide the will call ticket information to the venue box office prior to general public ticket sales.
