[to be quite honest, at this rate Sora'd have better luck getting a completely filtered message through by throwing the journal at the wall than going through the actual motions. this likely won't be the last opportunity to eavesdrop.]

Good enough. I'm a special kind of soldier back in my world. [He's not bothering to hide the ninja thing anymore - anyone who saw him on the draft knows by now. But he keeps it vague anyways.] Something you're after?

We don't... really get to choose whether we're shipped off to fight or not, right? If we aren't doing this already, we should think about grouping together to train.

That's why I asked about military experience. They'd be better at keeping us all organized.

I think there's a group of people that have already offered to teach people combat skills. You're right though - training like that could use more structure. It's one thing to be able to throw a punch, but you need more than that when you're fighting in a war.

Right, exactly! Besides, it's always easier to train with friends.

You do sound pretty experienced, sir. Are you helping out with training already?

I trained with some of the people I went out with in the draft, but not aside from that.

[There's a pause as he tries to decided how to word it.] Pulling something like that off would be complicated. You'd have no hard time finding people who want to learn how to fight, and sure it might be easier with friends, but the fact of the matter is that with the way the draft works, you aren't always going to have your friends out there. If you can only work with a handful of people, there's going to be problems.

[And that's only one issue.]

If you train with a bunch of different people, though, then there's a good chance you'll be drafted with people you can work with either way!

How often do these draft things happen? We've got at least a little time to train ourselves, if nobody else, right?

From what I've seen, they're pretty random. There's been two of them since I came here in September, and both came with only a few days notice. It's safe to say that any time spent training here in the village before that would be spent wisely.

Then... there's no time to waste. Even if we train for only an hour or two a day, that's still better than sitting around eating everything in the bakery.

Think maybe that's something you should advertise? Maybe if you get a hold of that other group, they can work something out. More students and teachers, etcetera.

You mean like with signs and stuff? I could do that... Or maybe I could just draw a huge picture on the journal...
