['lo Sora. Don't look now, but there's a strange critter that's climbed up onto one of the boxes of your make-shift fort. It seems to be trying to pilfer and make off with a club sandwich from it.]

-- Hey! [excuse me, strange blue bunny creature, that is Sora's club sandwich. so he's scrambling to his feet and lifting the box with the thing still sitting on it.]

You could have asked, you know.

[Whoa hey, that's his perch you're messing with! The Flood pulls itself up to it's full, (still diminutive) height, and pins his oppressor with a threatening stare--

before it does what any self-respecting Flood would do, and tries to scratch Sora's face.]

[Sora has embarrassingly bad luck with bunnies it seems-- he outright drops the box and Flood with a pained yelp, summoning his Keyblade. reliable old Kingdom Key, it seems.]

What was that for?! Get out of here!

[Sandwich and Flood fall to the ground, the former shaking itself off a little before it grabs the sandwich and takes off. He was sent on a mission, and you won't deter him from it, spikey-haired child!]

[well, that was... bizarre. thanks a lot, psycho bunny, hopefully Sora doesn't have to go get a tetanus shot or something.]

Man, I really wanted that sandwich, too...

[Well, someone else wants that sandwich, too. The 'psycho bunny' zips around buildings and into a more forested area, until it reaches it's destination. Namely, a figure leaning against a tall pine, who straightens a bit once his lackey reappears.

Scurrying to his feet, the Flood holds it's bounty up almost proudly as Vanitas reaches down to take it--]

[...And immediately notices it's in horrible condition. There's specks of grit on it, the bun's falling apart, and... that's not bacon, that's a dead leaf.

Wonderful.]

I can't eat this. [Instead of praise, the little Flood gets a kick for it's trouble, and watches as it's Master tosses the sandwich down. It seems to realize it's failure, and does something like a grovel but Vanitas isn't paying attention anymore. No, if you want something done, you've gotta do it yourself.]

[It's still a little risky for him to walk openly in town, but he'll take his chances. Ten minutes later, he's walking up to the door of the Bakery. The odd, box fort that's popped up outside does catch his attention, but first things first...

He's walking inside and getting a proper sandwich.]

[... not the baker. at least, that better not be the baker-- it's been on the brink of a year and a half since he'd fought Riku back in Hollow Bastion, but Sora recognizes that suit anywhere. he doesn't have to be able to sense darkness to understand what it implies, either.]

[Sora steps out from behind his baked fortress of solitude, into the open and a short distance away from the bakery's entrance-- he doesn't want to cause a ruckus in there, if there's a ruckus looming on the horizon. he'll wait for Vanitas to come back outside.]

[Sora shouldn't have to wait long; it only takes him a couple minutes to get his food. And this time, it's safely wrapped in sandwich paper as he carries it out. As he comes out the door, he hasn't noticed Sora's presence quite yet, but he will in the next few seconds unless he initiates.]

[the only hint Vanitas gets that Sora's there at all at first is the sound of him clearing his throat-- and probably the sense that someone's watching him and that sandwich warily. he says nothing else, and simply stands right in Vanitas' direct line.]

[Step, step. pause. That throat clearing definitely catches his attention, and Vanitas takes a second to stare at the other boy, then glance at the box fort. An ambush?

He's not sure whether that's the nuttiest plan he's ever seen, or kind of ingenious in a random way. Whatever the case, he sounds fairly amused when he speaks.]

A person usually attacks from behind their screen, you know. Walking out in the open sort of defeats the purpose.

... It wasn't you I was waiting for. [... wrong answer, Sora. backpedal!]

Something stole my sandwich earlier; I was going to go get another.

[Ah, that explains it.] Something?

[this is surprisingly civil considering how their last encounter went, but Sora's not letting his guard down.]

Yeah. Some weird blue bunny... thing.
