Oops, I forgot the 26-anime project. I may have missed some, but I've definitely done one:
1. Princess Tutu
A fascinating series that mixes classic ballets with some hyper-modern anime tropes (i.e. magical girls) to make a fun, quick romp. I wrote a paper on this series which I'm happy to pass along if you want more details on the mechanics of it. The heroine, Ahiru (Japanese for "duck"), is a duck that was transformed into a human who herself has the power to transform into Princess Tutu. As Princess Tutu, she retrieves the scattered shards of a prince's heart.
It's hard to describe it in more detail because there are tons of twists and turns, so let me just say that if you're a writer, you will definitely like this series and should check it out. It's a great series overall, but writers in particular should give it a shot.
