Magic Kaito, Saguru Hakuba
I just finished reading the four volumes of Magic Kaito. I said I like it, and I still do. Some thoughts: the first two volumes' art are vastly different from the last two, and the third is different than the fourth. One and two are a lot like Yaiba. Well, MK did come out 1988, the same time as Yaiba. DC came out in... 1994. That's around the time the third MK volume was collected. Seeing the change in art makes me want to revisit the beginning of DC, tho I'm up to chapter 390 atm. When I read the fourth volume, I totally squee'd when Shin'ichi appeared! That chapter was adapted into the DC anime as the first part of episode 219. The DC case that appeared in that episode was in the manga (in other words, 219 was a MK heist, or memory of a heist, and a DC case). Whoever thought of combining those two was genius XD. (Ara~ I don't remember when I finished Kid episodes/movies...)
Now, along with MK comes another "koukousei tantei", Saguru Hakuba. I have generally good feelings about him, but I want to rant a little about our blond Japanese *shifty eyes*. Well, I'll make it a points system! Let's see: Saguru gets a point for his hair XD *shot*. *Serious* Hm, he loses a point bc when he shows up in volume three in MK, he wears this Holmes costume that made me go "wth Saguru..." At least, with volume four, he wears modern clothing. And in DC too. Ah, give him a point for recognizing Conan's "potential" *cough*, but minus one bc he doesn't like my Heiji =(. Oh, and he totally gets a point bc he is voiced by Akira Ishida *heart*.

I have some [potential] userpics lined up to be made, so when I do make them after my shower, I will post them here. And, yes, they are from Magic Kaito. (Totally not stealing manga scans...)
