So I finally watched the "Gyakuten Saiban" live action movie on Sat. Eefi saw it + it made her want to play the AA games. Heh.
My opinion:
I was a little disappointed. The movie decided to shove 4 cases into 2.25 hours (the first game - minus 'Rise From the Ashes'). It starts out with Maiko Ayasato (Misty Fey) channeling Shin Mitsurugi's (Gregory Edgeworth's) spirit. The first case was cut up to introduce Naruhodou (Phoenix) and Chihiro (Mia) (and by extension, Yahari (Larry)). The third case rushed to intro' Mitsurugi (Edgeworth) (they seriously cut out the WHOLE !@#$ CASE). The second case intro'ed Mayoi (Maya). (Oh yeah, they switched up the order of 1.2 and 1.3, then connected 1.2 and 1.4.) The fourth case got all the attention (as it should, but at the expense of the others?). The movie could easily have been 2: movie 1 = 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, but include some investigating for 1.1; movie 2 = 1.4, Shin's death and channeling, plus the case in "Gyakuten Kenji 2" with Shin Mitsurugi and Tateyuki Shiragaki, maybe add a cameo/intro' of Mei (Franziska). The stringer pretty much shouted "NO SEQUEL LOL"... The only music from the games that I recognized was Odoroki's (Apollo's) theme... REALLY!?
Not a total rant: I really liked the acting. Every actor fit their character rather well. The costumes were nice too (but would Mayoi wear that kinda coat?). Even the extras had subtle outfits that fit the series wacky people universe.
