It's been a while

Jun 16, 2010 19:29

Kind of. A whole semester anyway. Strangely, it feels like it's been forever. I'm not sure why, but when I started reading my most recent journal entries, I ask myself, "When did I write this??" Maybe it's because I didn't touch a "post reply" button or anything of that sort for the last two semesters. I mean, in January, I told myself that I would get back into RPing because I had finally finished with the game class, but really... I think I got in one post at the beginning of the semester since then and that was it.

What's going on right now? Well, it's summer. This is by far the most eventful summer (academically) that I'm ever going to have. And at this point I am starting to glimpse into my planned future and see what I have in store for myself. This summer, we got into another job for our professor. A drummer 'game' without a real title yet with big plans. I mean, those guys who are managing it are looking at it with some seriously starry eyes. More on that later perhaps. We've got summer school planned so our final semester before we graduate (WHAT?! ALREADY?! It's only been what... 3 years? What?!?! It's already been 3 years?!) less stressful (in reality it's not going to be any different than what we're doing so far... 5 classes a semester, but granted, those classes are almost all art classes. I could barely handle 3 art classes all at once. @____@)(that sentence had way more parenthesis than I had ever anticipated). On top of that, we got another job with one of the professors who managed the Drummer Game starting July 5th, working with his grant proposal on crowd simulation. It sounds freaking awesome. We get to animate regular people doing regular things and panicking with chaotic events! I am excited. :D

And the pay's good, if only for 3 weeks. Still, I made more the last 3 weeks than I did in one semester at the dining services. Granted, we only took on minium hours. I have no idea how we're going about that for this last year. We have a HUGE project coming on, our Senior Studio. It's moving into the production phase, but man... Both me and Tiff are sweating bullets when thinking about all the work we have ahead of us.

....You know, it's been a while since I've written in LJ. I kinda see why I try to keep doing it. It's good for me, it gets my mind thinking in terms of the written word without worrying about what kind of scene I'm trying to conjure in my mind. I should do it more often. :D

Anyway, the real reason I came on here was to do this music quiz thing that caught my eye yesterday. It's such a waste of time, but I have time to waste (Logical Me: No you don't.). I can save the rest of my thoughts for another time.

Here we go...

If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button

Opening Credits: Wong Fei Hung Theme by ?

No Lyrics

(Did you know, this song is probably correctly titled General's Order? I saw a set of drummers playing this while researching drummers.)

Anyway! There is a huge crowd of people on an open courtyard, all standing in an organized manner, all performing a series of punches and kicks in time with the song. It is set in ancient China. You see me, the main character standing at the head of the group, probably dressed in a different set of garments and looking out at the people. My subjects/pupils perhaps?

The camera watches them for a while before ending on a great drumbeat, the screen blacking out with the title in bold. An action movie??

Waking Up: Leonardo's Inventions Pt 1 by Jesper Kyd from Assassin's Creed 2

No Lyrics

I am in my room, resting on my cot (sure why not?) Surrounding me are several scrolls, suggesting I am a scholar of some type. There is something going on outside my window, just a whole in the brick wall with a shutter screen. I push it open to look outside, seeing that the sky is dark and bleak, the people wandering around with anxious looks on their faces. Something is happening. I leave my house to investigate.

First Day At School: Repeated Tide by Motoi Sakuraba from Eternal Sonata

No Lyrics

When I leave to my first day of school (or something like that), everyone is on edge. I try to ask someone what's going on, but they look at me, scared. "It's going to happen, Kung Fu Master Student Person. It's going to happen." He scurries away to class/work/into the nearest opened room. I stare after him with a WTF look on my face.

When I turn around, I spot someone disappear in a shocked fashion around a corner. When I go to look, no one is there, except for some scattered sheets of paper. People walk past him, eyes down. I decide to proceed to wherever my destination is.

Falling In Love: If You Still Believe by Dennis Martin from Legend of Dragoon

I had a dream that I could fly
I can feel each moment as time goes by
We'd never be too far away,
You would always be here, I heard you say

I never thought
Thought that it would be our last goodbye
(our last goodbye.)
I still can dream
That one day love will fall out from the sky

As I step into the next room, I freeze in my steps, eyes wide. There is a magnificent boom that shakes the ground, the ceiling suddenly giving way onto a bed of flowers. A blonde spikey- haired person crashes into the ground, unconscious. I rush to him, eyes all wide and poke him with a stick, saying "Hello? Hello? Is it dead?"

*Gets smacked in the face with a NO COPYRIGHT MATERIAL board*

He wakes up like Snow does from a hundred foot fall and looks at me. We fall in love at first sight, and this song comes on. He tells me that his occupation involved falling down from obscenely high places, knowing that one day, he would fall into the room where his soul mate was. We stare into each other's eyes with a faded, starry background for a while.

After a second, he looks around at the people mulling past and says, "What's up with this atmosphere? It's like something's gonna happen, when you know that it's not."

Fight Song: Katamari Stars by Hideki Tobita from Katamari Damacy

No Lyrics

Uh... ...Um... Huh. So... There are these bunches of stars in the sky that both me and my adrenaline junky lover are looking at, it being a very loverly kind of thing to do. I point at the stars and say,

"Look at those. Don't they look like they're fighting for their lives?" They look like the constellations are warriors frozen in mid clash. (Ha HA! Loop hole...)

My lover laughs at me. "I dunno. They look like giant clusters of trash to me."

Breaking Up: Season's Call by Hyde from Blood+

English Translation:

I'm against to the tangling wind
I am looking for the lost season
slightly but my way aims towards your eyes
pushed by a shining memory

How many cuts should I repeat?
How many fates should I accept?
Does it have an end?

You always coursing through all my body
So I won't have fear, Even tomorrow
Because I always feel you in me.

I'm like, "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!" apparently taking insult to his comment about the stars looking like clusters of trash to me.

We get into a huge fight, me and him arguing about what the stars are supposed to look like. Even though we have just me, he tells me, "You know what? I need my space!" Deeply insulted, I run out into the rain.

I cry like a little baby because I know that I'm his soul mate and being apart from him hurts. Like... uh... Cuts and... fates and... ends.

I feel like the music director for this movie was having a heart attack while directing it... giving a falling in love song for a breaking up song...

Prom: Wu Shu Jing Shen (Ending) by Shigeru Umebayashi from Fearless

No Lyrics

So I go to prom, but am without a date. I feel depressed because I can't stand to be without him and stuff. I mainly stand off to the side, wondering about the meaning of a life without my Love who fell from the sky. I somehow come to the conclusion that he'll probably fall from the sky again, because that's what the song told me and resolve that...

Life's OK: Wu Shu Jing Shen (Opening) by Shigeru Umebayashi from Fearless

No Lyrics

Yeah. Life he falls from the sky and crashes into the ceiling again, just like I thought. We kiss and make up. It is very dramatic.

Mental Breakdown: Trigger Situation by Masashi Hamauzu from Dirge of Cerberus

No Lyrics

Even though he fell through the ceiling just for me, he unveils to me that it wasn't because he wanted to get back together me with. It was just his occupation after all. He pushes me away and I stare at him in shock.

"W-What are you saying, Cloud?!"

He looks away, telling me that my view of stars is ridiculous and that he didn't care about me. He just dropped in to tell me that he found someone else to love.

Something in me cracks. Probably my skull, exploding with shock and anger. I run outside.

Driving: One with the Stars by Tenpei Sato from Disgaea

No Lyrics

I hop into my car, shouting into the night, "WHO CARES ABOUT THAT DOUCHE?!" and drive in a random direction, having just the stars to guide me. Happy that I am finally rid of that guy, I watch the stars above me dance with happiness. All the while, I am running over margins and small animals and mailboxes and whatnot because there is no possible way for me to see where I am going with just the starlight to guide me.

I don't care. I decide here and now, that I am forever going to be his nemesis and begin to concoct several schemes to bring him his downfall.

Getting Back Together: Florence Escape by Jesper Kyd from Assassin's Creed 2

No Lyrics

After finding my way back through trails and trails of destroyed property and such, I spot Cloud standing on a hilltop with someone else, a girl with long brown hair pulled into a ponytail and wearing a pink dress. Her name is not Aeris, because Aeris is dead.

I look him in the eye with a smile and tell him that I hold no grudges against him and Not Aeris, and actually wish them the best of luck, that I genuinely wish him for his happiness.

He thanks me, and invites me to his wedding.

I grin evilly. "Why, I would love to come, wouldn't I?"

Wedding: Venice Rooftops by Jesper Kyd from Assassin's Creed 2

No Lyrics (again...)

The day of the wedding comes. I come in my best outfit, which just so happens to be the one that looks like an assassin from Assassin's creed. When he is not looking, I put my plan into motion.

I leap from rooftop to rooftop, because Cloud decided to get married in a place with lots of bulidings but lots of outdoor space too. I set charges on their future-house's roof and assassinate a couple of the servants for good measure.

The couple say their vows as I am returning, accomplished. Little do they know, that their wedding is ruined! RUINED I SAY!

Birth of Child: Legend of Zelda Medley by ? probably Koji Kondo

No Lyrics

So. Almost immediately after their wedding, Cloud and Not Aeris retire to their home because Aeris is already pregnant and well into labor. Somehow.

This song begins to play with her on her bed, biting back the tears and coping with the pain. I sneak around outside, making sure the charges are set.

The doctor comes in for some pleasant conversation to cheer up the wife. They are chatting for a while, I peer into the window, then set the charges. and high tail it out of there.

There are explosions! But just as the main theme of Zelda kicks up, Link come shooting out of Not Aeris, sword in hand. The baby Link manages to save all of them from the destruction, herding them to safety.

I am hiding in the bushes some distance away. Realizing that my plans have been foiled, I look on at the happy group, celebrating and cheering victory with a tear in my eye.

Final Battle: Rise by Origa from Ghost in the Shell 2

Save your tears for the day
when our pain is far behind
on your feet
come with me
we are soldiers stand or die

Save your fears take your place
save them for the judgement day
fast and free
follow me
time to make the sacrifice
we rise or fall

Somehow, Cloud and Baby Link, in his green tunic and everything, find me in the bushes. They demand why I did this to them. I tell Cloud that he had insulted me for making me love him and then throwing me away for some airhead.

"But, why couldn't we settle this in a non-violent way that would in no way endanger me or my wife or my baby?" Cloud asks.

"Because!" I cry, then begin to sing the lyrics of this song. We break into a hardcore, fast paced sword fight, my martial arts against both of their swords.

I am obviously outmatched. They are overwhelming me, but I counter with my super assassin skillzors, disappearing into the uh... bushes and nipping away at their HP while they spend most of their time trying to find me. I am coaxing them with Russian words.

They eventually chase me into an open area. I am beat up, they are beat up and annoyed, but not quite as beat up as me. I fall over, unable to take anymore.

Death Scene: River by Tatsuya Ishii (*Main Director sees that the music director who previously directed the beginning of this movie had returned, still in the throes of a heart attack. He strangles the music for good measure*) Aishiteru by Kourin from Natsume Yuujinchou

English Translation:

I love you, I love you
Until the end of the world
While smiling foolishly, try saying it -
"I love you"
even though its such a simple, thing, i can't do it
I wished to the sky to be able to love properly.

Cloud kneels over me and asks me, "Why did you do it?"

There are tears in my eyes. I tell him that I am still hopelessly in love with him and I couldn't stand having been given up for someone else. I am also sad that we couldn't make up and stay together. The thought broke my mind down into a raging assassin kung fu psychopath. I tell him that I'm sorry and ask him if I could have one more chance, but it is already too late. Because... You know. I died. It is a very very sad scene. Rain is falling again as I die, Cloud and Link staring down at my body.

(*Director sniffs away a tear*)

Funeral Song: Nocturne by Frederic Chopin from Eternal Sonata (played by Stanislav Bunin)

No Lyrics

The screen gets a sepia hue, old grainy lines of aged films filtering the image. It switches to a montage of my funeral. I am in a casket filled with flowers, surrounded by all the things that were in my movie: Cloud and Not Aeris and their son, Link in his green tunic and Master Sword, the whole kung fu academy, the gloomy people at the beginning of the movie whose atmosphere had no explanation whatsoever, even the stars are glittering around me. You can see bits of the movie, flashing between shots of me being put into the ground, going right up to the point I died.

Fast Forward and my grave gets filled and covered with a plot of grass. A flower grows up during the last minute of the song where the fast forward stops. The flower is center screen. A gentle wind blows, and at the last note, a petal falls.

End Credits: Almateria ~Vocal Mix~ by Eri Kawai from Tales of Symphonia (part 1)

Lyrics being debated upon at this very moment

Um... Yeah. *Smashes the italicize button frantically to try to remove it, to no avail* So. Um... Yeah. The movie just fades to black with the credits running. It sums up the movie with a hopeful tone. Somehow. Considering the heroine turned out to be the villian.
