In preparation for tomorrow, and after
evil_loki's car troubles after a long drive, I went and did the first proper check-up I've done on my car. Checked engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, wiper fluid and tyre pressure & tread. I feel accomplished!
The coolant was scarily low, and after consultation with a Holden guy - for it to be that low, there must be a leak somewhere. Great. But he said it should be fine on a water top-up to Adelaide and back, as long as I keep checking on it and topping up as needed. Then get it serviced when I get back. It's waaaaay overdue for a service, though. I think the last one was at like 70,000km, and it's nearly at 95,000km now -_-;;; Whoops! The tyres were frightfully low, too. Though I guess since I was putting them up to "full load" pressure for a long trip, it seemed like a lot more than a regular top up. :/ (and why are service station air facilities still in psi? Faaaaaail at being metric!) But afterwards! OMG! Felt like I was driving on a cushion! It was fantastic, will definitely not be letting it get too low again.
I really need to take better care of my car, I think. But now that I've done all this stuff, I know how to easily do it again, so I should check it all more often! And people wonder why I have no interest in taking my Aerospace degree to the Auto industry. LOL, sif I have any interest in cars other then them taking me from point A to B.
