I'm driving to Dayton for a training tomorrow and I'm relatively certain that Werner won't burst into flame at any point during the day. Why is/was there a risk of that? Long story, shortish: there was a hole in Werner's radiator. This caused him to overheat and his gaskets to swell and oil to dribble out. It's a small amount that comes out each time, but it had been doing it for weeks if not years so there's a good build-up of flammable gunk on the car's undercarriage.
Odds are, I'm being my usual paranoid self. I paid an ungodly amount of money to get the radiator fixed on Saturday, so it's not overheating anymore. In theory, the gaskets should not swell anymore. I still might wear my asbestos pants tomorrow just the same.
