So that’s what it had felt like to dance with him, well, beginning to anyway. She had to admit, she had always wondered, up until that night anyway.
(Faith continued to dance against Angel as she looked into his eyes. Smiling a little she leaned in close to his ear and talked quietly, “So you having fun yet?” Keeping close to his ear she breathed in shallowly and closed her eyes as she let the music take over. Parting her lips she pressed her fingertips gently into his neck while she danced against him still. A minute went by and she moved her hands from his neck and slowly down his chest as she opened her eyes. Moving her hands to Angel’s arms she moved around slowly in his embrace so her back was facing him. As she continued to dance against him she leaned her head back so it was resting on the front of his shoulder. Taking hold of his hands gently in hers she lifted them up and placed them at the top of her thighs before pushing them down slowly.
The song changed again, to another slow one, and Faith moved back around to face him. Breathing in deeply she looked into Angel’s eyes as she ran her hands slowly up his chest. She held his gaze as the people surrounding them began to fade into the background. While she continued to look into his eyes she realized she had stopped dancing. Smiling a little out of embarrassment she brought her hands up further and wrapped them back around his neck. Biting her bottom lip lightly in concentration she began to dance slowly against him again as she continued to look into his eyes. As she held his gaze she began to dance even slower against him in time with the music. Closing her eyes briefly she concentrated fully on how Angel felt against her as she danced. Pressing her fingertips lightly into the back of his neck she leaned forwards until her mouth close to his own. “Your offer to stay at the hotel still good?” Smiling a little she ran one of her hands gently from his neck to his chest while she waited for an answer.)
She couldn’t recall why she had asked him that, then a smile came to her lips as she suddenly remembered why. It was his hands. After she had moved them down her thighs he had willingly moved his hands slowly back up her thighs again, and not pulled away like she had thought he would.
(Faith continued to look into his eyes as she waited for him to speak. On hearing his words her smile began to grow a little. Smiling as she looked into his eyes she ran her hand up and down the front of his chest a little. Keeping her eyes locked with his she parted her lips after licking them lightly with the tip of her tongue. As she kept her fingertips moving she looked down and slipped them gently between the top buttons of his shirt. Feeling his cool skin on her fingertips sent a pleasant shiver up her spine. Still dancing against him she let her gaze sweep slowly upwards until her eyes met his own. Giving him a warm smile she talked to him quietly, “You know. You’re pretty good. You haven’t trodden on my toes once.”
She moved her fingertips gently against his skin for a few more seconds and then removed them slowly from his shirt. Looking into his eyes still she ran her hand slowly up his shoulder as she whispered, “Angel.” She didn’t know what else to say. Being this close to him was starting to have an affect on her. Still dancing against him she bit her bottom lip as she looked at her hand while she moved it slowly up his chest and to the side of his neck. Pressing her fingertips in gently, she ran them down the side of his neck and shifted her gaze to his eyes. She moved her fingertips slowly around to the back of his neck and then up slightly. Tilting her head to the side a little, as she kept her eyes locked on his, she then pressed his head gently closer so their lips barely touched. Smiling a little she pressed her body against his and spoke quietly, “You ready to leave?”)
She remembered how he had answered her. Almost breathlessly, as if he was only concentrating on her alone, which of course he was. His quiet “Yeah” had almost been swallowed up in the music surrounding them.
(Faith breathed in sharply and tried to control her breathing as best she could. Moving her head around a little she stopped dancing as she kept her body pressed against Angel’s. She carried on looking into his eyes as she brushed her lips lightly against his. Breathing in sharply once again she caught herself by surprise at what she just did. Smiling a little she spoke quietly, “Unless you want to dance some more.” As her smile turned into a slight mischievous one she pressed his head closer so their lips were touching. Frowning slightly she pulled her head back a little and looked down at his lips. She didn’t know if she had done the right thing or not. All she knew was that it felt good and she wanted more. Moving her head forwards again she moved her fingers into the hair at the back of his neck and kissed him hungrily and slowly once. Instead of pulling back straight away she sucked in his bottom lip and then slowly released it as she opened her eyes.
The song ended and the music sped up again while Faith stood there looking into his eyes. She slowly moved her hand down the back of his neck and blinked while she tried to focus her mixed thoughts. She felt slightly jittery as she stepped back slowly, shaking her head and trying to clear it. Hoping she hadn’t done the wrong thing she nodded in the direction of the bar and then turned around and closed her eyes briefly before she took a step forwards. Glancing back she looked at Angel and talked quietly and a little uncertainly, “Are you coming?” Looking ahead she began to walk towards the bar stool where she had left her jacket before they had started to dance. Frowning slightly when she reached the stool she picked up her jacket and slipped it on. She didn’t look at him because she didn’t want to see any regret in his eyes. She half expected that if she did he’d be wearing a serious face and then would go into fine detail why it wasn’t a good idea for her to have kissed him.
Faith adjusted the collar on her jacket as she tried to sort through all the thoughts that were racing through her mind. As she started to walk she forced herself not to look at Angel when she felt his hand on her back. She chalked it up in her mind as a ‘first’, as no one else had done that to her before. Weaving their way through the crowd and towards the front door she walked with a slight frown, trying to decide if she like the feeling of his hand there or not. As they both made their way out the front door she realized that she did like it, but then perhaps it was because of whose hand it belonged too. She didn’t know what that meant, but she knew she trusted him, so she stayed just as close to him as what she already was. After a few moments she stole a glance in his direction, and she couldn’t help but form a small smile on her lips.
Looking away from Angel she tried to concentrate on the street ahead as they walked. From looking at him she knew exactly why all the females swooned and blushed in his presence. Any fool could see why they acted that way just by looking at him. Walking with slight determination she decided she wasn’t going to be one of ‘those’ females. Trying to focus her attention on the present she knew all she had to do was make it back to the hotel without giving in to any urges. Swallowing lightly, as if to halt that particular train of thought, she then cleared her throat gently. A few profanities sprung to mind as she tried to come to a conclusion as to why Angel was managing to affect her so much. She couldn’t think straight and in frustration nibbled lightly on her bottom lip. Closing her eyes briefly her senses heightened as she tasted him on her lips from when they’d kissed. Feeling a bit strange and not herself she linked one of her arms into his after she moved a little closer to him.
Faith knew she was being ridiculous. She had no idea why she felt panicked. Frowning slightly as she carried on walking she knew it wasn’t really panic, but fear. She felt strange, something which she didn’t usually feel around a guy, especially not in the past. She had changed a lot since her and Angel had first met, a lot for the better if she was to be honest with herself. But still she had trouble pushing the old her aside and concentrating on who she was today. Usually the old her only came to the surface when she was in a totally new situation. But, she was just with Angel, so she couldn’t understand why her feelings were suddenly changing towards him. Yeah she had always cared for him, but now there was a feeling at the pit of her stomach that she couldn’t put her finger on. It was definitely something she had never experienced before.
She realised they were suddenly closer. Frowning she tried to remember when they had gotten closer but she drew a total blank. She had let her guard down and there weren’t many people she would do that with. When she thought on it more he was the only one that she ever trusted enough to be herself when she was in his presence. Turning her head to the side she smiled softly at Angel while she wondered if he was as confused as what she was. Sighing lightly and almost noiselessly she then turned her head and noticed his hotel up ahead. A wave of something similar to nervousness washed over her and she gripped Angel’s arm gently with her hand. Forcing herself to calm down she made her way steadily up the front steps and to the front door. Trying to find a new focus, besides the man at her side, she wondered if anyone else was up and about inside. Glancing at Angel she smiled a little as she loosened her grip on his arm.)
Faith smiled. Remembering that first kiss between them. One she had initiated, but he had reciprocated, and really this time, not just a kiss that was stolen behind lies she had told. She tried to laugh at the absurdity at how nervous she had felt that night, but no sound came out and she just ended up looking down at her lap, watching her dress move like it was an ocean while small waves made out of shiny silk moved steadily across her thighs.
