posted fic (PG) and two fic recs (NC-17)
Posted a PG Snupin-ish fic at lupin_snape: A Cure For Lycanthropy.
I also wanted to rec two fics that are not in my usual fandoms. I've been very lucky in that most of the time, the first fic I read in a new fandom (new for me) is so well written that I don't even need to know the source material to be able to understand what's going on. isiscolo's "Double Occupancy" is what got me into SGA, and although I don't think I'll get into these two fandoms, I really did have to rec these fics. They're wonderfully written and hot as hell. :-)
We saw "Transformers" for the first time this past weekend, because it was one of the few movies available at the rental box and the special effects looked kind of cool in the commercials. I never saw the cartoons; I think when they were on, I was either living in another country or maybe just working, SINCE I WAS A GROWNUP EVEN BACK THEN AND WORKED IN THE AFTERNOONS INSTEAD OF WATCHING CARTOONS. Ahem. Anyway, I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would -- Shia Leboeuf (sp?) has the best delivery and carried the humor in the movie so well -- and at the end there was a moment that made me want to go look for Bumblebee/Sam slashfics. Before I remembered to do so, I accidentally (serendipitously?) ran across a rec for one, which turned out to be the first of a series that I really hope is not finished yet.
The fics are called The Human Series, by keelywolfe, and they're exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Almost all of them are NC-17/explicit content, in case anyone here wants to avoid that. (Snerk. As if.) Anyway, start at the bottom and enjoy your way up.
You may want to rent the movie first, if you haven't seen it, because the first fic is set a short time after the end of the movie. Also, the movie was kind of confusing as to which robot was which, although the fic is very good with characterization. But it would still help you understand the backstory if you see the movie first.
The other rec is a Supernatural fic. I've only seen one episode of the show because we're really trying not to add more TV, but even if you haven't seen the show, again, excellent characterization will tell you most of what you need to know to understand what's going on.
The fic is Devil Inside, and what you need to know to understand it is that Sam and Dean are brothers who go around fighting demons, which fight back. Um, at least, that's my understanding of the show, from the one ep I saw. It was enough that I could understand the fic and the accompanying art.
Yes, do NOT miss ponderosa121's illustration that's linked at the end of the fic. I actually saw the pic first, and it's gorgeous. Also NC-17.
