purplefluffycat's Jeeves and Wooster fic was recced to me by
lash_larue last month, but I'd never read any of
P.G. Wodehouse's stories and didn't have time to watch the DVDs because DH was coming out and I was trying to re-read the books and write fic.
Now that all the DH emotion is over, I watched the first few episodes of Jeeves and Wooster and it's a lot of fun. So British!! But the best part is that now I can appreciate
purplefluffycat's fic,
Jeeves and the Artistic Verisimilitude, which has humor of the original and perfect characterizations, but also sends the characters down the slash path that is so very obvious when you watch the show.
If you know Wodehouse, go read it. If you don't,
rent the DVDs from Netflix, then go read the fic. Bonus: Wooster is played by a hot, young Hugh Laurie, and Jeeves is played by a hot, young Stephen Fry. Yum and yum.
Oh, nearly forgot to mention that if DH made you sad, this fic will definitely cheer you up.
