I have no idea whether this happens in real prisons, as I've never been in one, and have no particular desire ever to visit one. But, you know how, on TV shows,when they let prisoners out for their one hour per day trek around a dusty gravel-filled yard there's an awful, soul-sapping buzzing sound, a little like a dental drill?

Well over the half-term holidays at Prior, buzzers have been installed to shepherd people over to their lessons. Same sound.
Says it all really.
