I thought that I would follow my fellow beach bunnies down to Miami or Daytona or perhaps out to Cali. You know, put on my yellow bikini, grab a few cosmos, and look extremely pleased to be pole dancing with twelve other blond chicks and a brunette (for variation), all for the sake of some hairy guys drinking beers and the MTV crew (who really must get sick of this, don't you think?).
But then I thought, why not have a little more fun? So, I found myself one of strongest cold viruses out there (like, whoa man, I was seeing things!), went through two Kleenex boxes, and spent my days watching movies on Instant Netflix and doing some occasional grading (not too much, though, as I didn't want to get my kids sick; it's all about the kids, all about the kids, folks).
Favorite rough draft moment so far: "thousands of [Vietnamese] citizens carrying posters of communist figures such as Marx and Lennon." (No doubt they sang "Let It Be" as they marched.)
I know, I definitely need some better rough draft moments.
Seriously, though, I've had a lovely (and perhaps too lazy) spring break, part of which has been spent catching up with the f-list; even if I haven't commented (I really don't know what to say half the time), I'm glad to see you all still doing your thing.
Oh, one more thing I did: finished
Irene Nemirovsky's Suite Francaise. I thought it was a brilliant book. Highly recommend it.
Okay, so, it's back to grading and soon, back to work. As I will have very little free time in April or May, I'll see you in June! Hope life is treating you all well.
