I appreciated the book more after coming out of the film.

ME TOO! Not just because the film's flaws reinforced the book's strengths, but because seeing it on the screen somehow brought home how dangerous a situation everyone is in. Reading about fear and paranoia and wand dueling isn't the same as seeing it.

But it was peculiarly a very quiet movie, don't you think? I wanted to hear Harry scream when Sirius, very quietly, fell into the veil. I wanted to hear Harry scream at Dumbledore, who'd acted like a git the whole year by avoiding him. At least he yelled at Snape a little.

Luna was by far my favorite character. Umbridge was perfectly nasty...I loved her little giggle. And I was actually really impressed with how much the regular actors have grown...Emma was much more controlled, Rupert actually played the protective best friend this time around, not just the Gryffindor jock, and Dan is just a natural for Harry now. And Dudley's really grown, lol.

Oh, one more thing. I LOVED the flying scene at the beginning. I think it was the music. I got chills :)
