I am, unsurprisingly, failing at NaNoWriMo. I'm not as far behind as I would have expected by now (am at 16.5k), but after the initial go-go-go, 1000 words counts as a good day. That said I do want to get to 50k, so am hereby altering my personal challenge terms to "50k by Christmas Eve". It's an arbitrary date, but a one that will let me get away with 800 words/day :p

My mum's been great at playing with Katelyn so I can get some more typing time in, however this only serves to make me jealous *g* It doesn't excuse me from shopping, laundry, cooking etc though, and I like getting out of the house too: it gives me a chance to speak to ADULTS. Not saying that Mum and Rob aren't adults, but they get boring *lol* The exercise is good, too. I even tried staying up late or having a "day off" to blitz the word count, but the wee one is now both teething (yay) and growth spurting, so clinginess is high and 3-4 hourly feeds are 24/7.

Those who win NaNo despite life's various challenges (especially the usual ones, like full-time work!) have my utmost respect, but I'll tag along at my own pace, thanks :) It's been great for reminding me that there's life outside of Katelyn and this house though *lol* not that I didn't know this before, but I needed a kick up the backside to realise it.

On a slightly random note, Classic FM just played a piece of music that set my ears a-twitching. I could identify the tune, but an orchestral version of "Who Wants To Live Forever"? A little hunting came up with this: The Queen Symphony. Why have I never heard this before????? Ooh, it's on eBay too, eeeeeexcellent (and hands off, it's mine *grrrr*).
