Holy Lord!
So I am actually alive. Here's the quick low-down about my life since february. So, speech was insane, and i'm really glad the season is over. i ended up giong to AFA nats at the university of florida in 4 events: extemp, impromptu, POI and poetry. i didn't break in any of them, but i did get a 1 ranking from one of my judges in POI, so i was happy. watching finals was insane though. some of those people are rediculously good. it was also an adventure being at Florida while the Gators won the NCAA championship. lets just say that there were a lot of drunk people shouting and naked people running and playing in fountains.
Our coach Kim also had the wire in her knee break while in florida so she had to be flown back to oklahoma to have surgery. she didn't end up getting her operation until this past friday, a good two weeks after, but she is healing well, and all is fine.
in other news, i am for sure studying abroad in spain next year for the whole year. i will be living in valencia spain which is right on the mediterranean coast. i have mountains of paperwork to fill out, but i'm very excited. from the photos i've seen, valencia is a GEORGEOUS city of about 750,000. so, it's pretty big, but not gigantic. i am also planning to take ballroom classes there, so i can come back and tear up the dance floor. i won't be leaving until late august or early september, so i'll be around in the summer.
school has been pretty crazy. i don't think i'm going to make straight A's this semester, but i shouldn't do too poorly. everything is really busy, and it's hard to believe that my first year in college is three weeks away from being done. i'm really looking forward to summer though!
on a final note, i had a bit of inspiration tonight. i want to do a summer charity project where i get local artists and photographers, including students, to donate art and either have an auction to raise money for charity, or just donate the art to nursing homes, or do both. i don't really know how to go about organizing it, or what, but if anyone has any ideas, or wants to help, please let me know. i think it'd be fun, and it'd be a great way to not only help out the norman community, but do something prodctive over the summer.
