Ramble ramble

While browsing around a site dedicated to Toad the Wet Sprocket live downloads, I stumbled across a recording of Glen Philips doing a cover of Nuetral Milk Hotel's Two Headed Boy. I wouldn't say I prefer it to the original, but it was cool nonetheless. His voice is so...pure. I also discovered that Mutual Appreciation Society, which is comprised of Glen Philips, Sarah Watkins, Sean Watkins, and Chris Thile (all of Nickel Creek) has a fan-created MySpace page which showcases a cover of Elliott Smith's Between the Bars. Glen Philips's voice, plus Nickel Creek's instrumentation, plus Elliott Smith song...well that's just a recipe for pleasantness, right there. Plus, Nickel Creek can cover just about anything well. (See Pavement's Spit on a Stranger, Dylan's Love is a Long Time, and even Britney Spears's Toxic.) I'm so glad my mama raised me on The Telluride Sessions.
