Dear L. Diary,
Unfortunately I missed out on lecture 2 because of other commitments on Wednesday afternoons!
I’m really bummed out about it because this is one of the subjects that I look forward to and don't frown about when I see it on my timetable!
I still have a major problem - no text book.
It's quite annoying not having it there because it just messes everything up and it’s hard to keep everything organized!!
However, I did manage to get a copy of one reading and write a lot about it in my common place book, just because it brought so many experiences into my mind.
The reading - “A Women on a Roof.”
Girls, hear me out if this story did not remind you of Saturday nights, walking in George street to club ** and then getting whistles and call outs from men sitting in their “ done up “ cars!!! But, what I loved about this story the most was that the women in it ignored Stanley and Tom similar to the way 18 year old women react and constantly ask themselves “what do these men expect? For us to respond to them, yelling at us like we are pieces of meat?
The line that suited my experiences was -
“Stanley let out a whistle. She lifted her head, startled, as if she’d been asleep, and looked straight over at them.”
These literature readings are making such similarities between the stories and my own life…
I AM LOVING IT!
