This one is for
etrix, who asked: Your favourite thing to do in your home/city/state by season.
I'll start with spring, because why not? Anyhow, given my love of gardening, one of my favorite things to do is go to the
Missouri Botanical Garden, which is one of the best in the country and which does a lot of conservation/research work around the world. It's just a lovely place to visit, and if you go there early in the morning, walking through the paths that wind through the woodland garden and Japanese gardens can be very restorative to the soul. Going there in the spring - even before things really start blooming - can do a lot to help get rid of that last dregs of winter clinging to the mind.
One other thing I love, aside from the Japanese garden (my favorite), is the Kemper Home Gardening center. It's basically a huge collection of demonstration beds designed to provide illustrations of what can be done in our particular zone/climate. It has everything from showing how you can make a garden in a tiny city lot w/ little sunlight to gardens designed for people w/ limited eyesight (lots of textures/smells) to landscaping w/ vegetables and so on.
Second favorite thing to do in spring (which is closely related to the first) is to go
here. Ow, my paycheck...
