I had the privilege of getting
twisted_slinky's wonderful story,
Of Wolf and Man, for this year's
sncross_bigbang. The story grabbed my attention early in the first chapter and would not let me go. The main monster of the story was intriguing as hell, and my art in no way does it justice. Please, go read!

I think you hit on it. Jensen is almost classically handsome / beautiful, but at the same time, his face has wonky bits like the little crook in his nose and I'd swear he's not symmetrical, either. If you straighten his nose, it's not "Jensen." If you concentrate on the wonky bits, it's not "Jensen," either. Fine line is fine, and the sum of his parts equals woe for the artist. :)
. . . or maybe he's just too darn pretty for interpretive artists mere mortals to draw. XDDD
The three redraws were complete erasures down to the bare paper, which had me terrified towards the end as I was starting to lose the tooth on the paper. Eek.
YIKES. I definitely feel your pain. In my case, too many erasures tend to create a tooth on the paper -- and markers don't like teeth. At all. D:
We go live on July 11, I'm 95% done (after having redrawn Jensen a bazillion times), and am both excited and terrified to post. \o/ /o\
p.s. I should like to see your "hilariously awful" version of Sam. Please? :)

Anyhow, I uploaded the picture of goony!Sam here. He's partially erased, but you can see how things were starting to go off the rails in a major way.

Aww, goony!Sam's not so bad. Quite the interesting expression he's got there. :) And you draw BIG -- oh, I am so jealous!
