Regarding the recent news on user purging

This is just to clarify the inactive account purging. As far as I understand it, suspended account purges are still manual; there just happens to be one going on at the moment.

Oh, and as for deleted-but-not-yet-purged users, they'll keep getting deleted after a certain time period automatically, but that time period is changing from 60 days to 30 days.

As I understand it looking at the code, the only time posts and comments made by purged users will be deleted (except for those in their own journal, obviously) is when the user in question is suspended, and staff can trigger the purging of suspended accounts when they want to.

This isn't an official reply, but it's as close as I can get by looking at the code without having asked what the future plans are.
