The Romance Challenge
1. The challenge is basically to create a ONE SHOT or a SET OF DRABBLES that falls under one of the sub-genres of a ROMANCE NOVEL (according to Wikipedia):
*Take note that Historical Romance wasn't included in this challenge... It will have a separate challenge sometime in the future :D
Contemporary Romance - It is usually set after World War II. It is also usually set in the time in which they were written. It is the most common genre of romance novels.
Romantic Suspense - The story usually involves an intrigue or mystery for the main characters to solve. Generally, the heroine is a victim of a crime - whether successful or not - and the hero would serve either as a protector, police, bodyguard, etc. At the end, the mystery is solved and the two fall in love in the process.
Paranormal Romance - It usually involves fantasy or science fiction. Characters may include vampires, demons, werewolves, witches/wizards, fairies, psychics, etc.
Time-Travel Romance - It is commonly about the heroine traveling to the past to meet the hero or the hero traveling to the future to meet the heroine.
Inspirational Romance - The story incorporates Christian values and themes
Multicultural Romance - The hero/heroine is usually is a descendant of two races; example of which is African-American, Asian-American, etc. It also includes interracial relationships
Erotic Romance - It is characterized by strong sexual content and it may contain elements of other genres of romance. It should NOT be confused with pornography as erotic romance includes well-developed characters and can stand with or without the sex scenes.
2. You may incorporate TWO OR MORE genres in your fanfic. Be creative :)
3. You may write as many fics as you wish. You may also repeat the genre of romance.
4. Previously written fics that may fall under this challenge are NOT ALLOWED.
5. There is no limit as to which Sooyoung pairing you want to use. There is no general limit to the ratings... though it is preferred that you use R or NC-17 if you intend to write an Erotic Romance. The genre is obviously romance... though you may add more depending on your story
6. Challenge is until 30 April 2011, Saturday
