wow.

what a crazy week.

sunday, sooper hungover, i flew to San Francisco. Annette picked me up and we drove around the city a bit with her cute little muffin Liam. got stuck in Pride day traffic. So good to see you again, baby; and so good to see your baby. he's the shit. bought some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans from the jelly belly store. Murray and i went for excellent sushi with his friend Jordan in the Marina district.

Monday, we had breakfast with Eric at Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe. which was pretty cool. all the wait-staff were well tattoo'd and they were playing the Slayer album Seasons in the Abyss from start to finish while we ate. then i went walking in the city. walked all the way down market to Castro, looked at the faggots, then all the way down haight, bought some tacky souvenirs and looked at SF freakos and saw some excellent stores, and bought a cd from Amoeba music. On the way back to Murray's i got a free ride on the Cable car. then we went flying. Down to Monterey and Salinas, except we didn't actually get to land the plane and look at things 'cause murray's a bitch. *grin* Then dinner with Ben and Shannon.

Teusday, Went for lunch in San Leandro at a cute little sandwich shop with annette. i walked down Embarcadero to Market, saw the sea lions at pier 39, and wandered through Union Square. Saw Dave Chappelle on the street, walked about 5 feet behind him for about 2 blocks trying to over-hear his conversation. no luck. saw lots of fancy stores. For anyone who's never been to a Caban, go look at crate and barrel. if the one by Union Square is typical, that's exactly the kind of store i run. Tried to scam a free ride on the cable car, but failed, and ended up having to help push the car for a bit when it lost the cable. Murray and i went to San Mateo(?) where i had an excellent but very messy burrito, and saw Batman Begins with Ben. good movie, but i don't think it's worth all the hype.

Wednesday was breakfast at Mama's. So. Good. and hot waitresses like Damn. Then to the bus station to get to the Ranch. 7 hours of bus-ride through the mountains and heavy traffic from construction later, i arrived. Beautiful though. Came through Donner pass. Which is where those people had to eat people when they got stuck in winter. awesome. The ranch is an old Divorce Ranch where people used to go to stay in Cabins split down the center so they could live "under the same roof" as their partner, to fulfill divorce law requirements. My Aunt and uncle who live there are retired, but have lived there for like 20 years or something. A gorgeous place. So much sky and quietness. looked at the stars, listened to the birds, enjoyed the mountain breezes.

Thursday, i set up for the service, moving chairs and tables around. Went swimming with my adorable and awesome little cousins Soonam and Keelee who are 9 and 6, respectively. got too much sun. had dinner twice, 'cause i was in the right place at the right time, and visted with tons of relatives who were all arriving all day long. Picked my brother up from the airport.

Friday was the Memorial service for my cousin Jay who died last winter from an anyeurism (sp?) It was cool to hear all the stories people had of him. I remember one time at the farm, in iowa when we fed tons and tons of wild hemp to the young pigs to see if they would get high. Drove back through the mountans a different and more spectacular way - through Carson pass. wow. just wow. went for dinner in berkeley, then back to the city for drinks at a soopercool bar called Zeitgeist. Huge huge open patio behind a skungy dive bar - think sneaky dees only without their obsessive cleanliness. packed place, despite the enormous size of their patios. Got to hang out with Murray again, and Fishie Erin and Albuquerque Erin (sorry, i know it's been like 10 years since you lived there, but it's how i think of you) good times.

Saturday morning was breakfast at Mamas again with Erin and Erin and their Boys and murray. So. Good. Same sooper hot waitresses. I think i'm in love. Then back to murray's, picked up my gear, Bart'ed it to SFO and then home.

what a crazy week.

p.s. Nancy, Murray wants me to make sure you noticed that i went to Mama's twice. In one week.
