I miss all the rambling meta conversations we used to have. How about some meta topics? Pick one or pick all, use one as a springboard for another discussion, offer another topic altogether. Just a few to get started with:
~ How you were first introduced to TNG, and what drew you to Data? Personally, I enjoy learning about this kind of background among my peers.
~ Lore’s favorite sexual kink. What might that be...mmmm?
~ The Enterprise computer is a superior computer to Data, strictly speaking. It does a damned fine job at simulating human behavior in the form of holodeck characters. Why can’t some of that technology be adapted for Data’s positronic net? (This may be more of a rhetorical question than a meta topic, since none of us has ever built an android…I think. But damn! I mean, DS9’s EMH is quite a successful "human"!)
~ Data/Tasha. Her gang rape trauma and how it may have influenced her decision to go to Data for love/sex (though taking into account that her inhibitions were lowered by the disease-of-the-week). What she sees in Data that makes him a “safe” choice.
~ Data (or Lore) as an alien. The humans of Star Trek strive to evaluate other species on each species’ own qualities, but Data is frequently compared to humans. Data wants to be human / Lore rebels against it / their appearance is (basically) human / their creator is human, but the Soong androids are a unique life form, and their own species. Consider other species who might more readily be able to accept and relate to Data, or he with them? Can Lore find his niche with a people…other than the Borg?
