Just got back from a wonderful dinner with
tashar. We went to Perry's Grille & Steakhouse in Clear Lake (
http://www.perrysrestaurants.com/clsteakdinnermenu.htm).
Absolutely fabulous food, though our waitress tonight was a little flaky. Lynn had a stuffed jalapenos appetizer, mushroom bisque soup and broiled salmon. I had a beefsteak tomato salad, french onion soup, and the house specialty, their seven finger pork chop (easily over 30 oz of meat, including 3 ribs, carved at the table). All finished off with a huge dish of Bananas Foster (flambe is their other specialty) that we barely managed to eat half of.
That (the pork) might be the best dish of food served in Houston, except for Pallotta's 18th Amendment (cheese tortolini, chicken, walnuts, sun dried tomato, and of course, lots of bourbon). If you're ever in Houston, I highly recommend both. For those of you who don't remember or weren't there, Pallotta's is the restaurant where our Houston wedding reception was held. It's not on the menu, but I have yet to find an occasion at that restaurant where they haven't made it for me.
Now it's time for the 'movie' part of our celebration: The Gathering. That's right, she's starting my Babylon 5 indoctrination. Think I'm calling in sick tomorrow.
Cheers!
