[und die Erde war ohne Form]

Here is a list, bulleted for your convenience, of all the reasons why today is so wonderful that it makes up for the near-panic attack I had earlier this week.

-THE PAPER (PAPER PAPER) is not due until Sunday. I will be allowed to sleep tonight.
-The piano jury has been played through close enough to flawlessly that I no longer need to flip my shit over it.
-I will not have a cello jury at all.
-I will probably not have to sleep on a park bench at all next month!
-I am finally enrolled without difficulties.
-I have an internship at the German Cultural Center of Atlanta this summer.
-I just ate ham, and it was delicious.

ALSO: I find myself in the most amazing dilemma of all time. See, next year, the combined choirs and symphony orchestra will be performing Haydn's Creation.

Haydn's. Motherfucking. Creation. I basically jizzed in my pants when this was confirmed to me. Because, you see, I actually don't have any piece of music I like more than Haydn's Creation. At all. And here is my dilemma: Do I sing in the choir, or play in the orchestra?

This video actually illustrates exactly why this is a difficult thing to decide. Because that first bit, the orchestral one - that's the creation of the stars, leading into the first sunrise. The first fucking sunrise. It makes my whole heart hurt when I hear it, because oh, god, Haydn did it so perfectly-- gathering the music like light, and then breaking it over you in a thousand colors, and then Uriel comes in like he was riding on the sun itself-- "In vollem Glanze...!" (Also, I love this Uriel, despite the fact that the sound on this particular recording doesn't really do any of the orchestra justice. "Ein' Rrrrrrriese, stolz und froooooh~!")

So - yeah. Orchestra for the creation of the stars. Unf. I would not be able to get sick of that. But then at 2:35, the choir comes in, intended to be angels or maybe stars themselves-- "Die Himmeln erzählen die Ehre Gottes--!" and aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.

And then the choir also gets the very beginning-- the first day, the creation of light. There are no words for this. It remains the most powerful thing I have ever heard, musically. I could sing that. I could sing in that. Oh god. Oh god. 8DDDDD

EVERYTHING IS NOW WORTH IT. AND I DO NOT CARE IF I KILL MYSELF WITH HOURS NEXT SEMESTER. IT DOES NOT MATTER, SO LONG AS SOME OF THOSE HOURS ARE SPENT IN HAYDN'S CREATION.

THAT IS ALL.

In conclusion: HAM.

music: video, richtig hammer, how can i keep from singing, photopost, epic win, links, make up your damn mind, omg music music music
