The Redliners, who are the a capella group I didn't get into. |D (The DB is standing second from the left, because he did get in.) I think they were singing Backstreet Boys here.
So I did not go to Quidditch last night. I spent some time in the morning updating my to-do list, and realized that I've let it get rather daunting; I'm not falling behind, exactly, but I'm not as on top of things as I like to be, and that needs to stop before it a.) becomes a habit and b.) starts to affect my grades/health/stress levels/general well-being. So I spent most of the evening in my dorm, doing theory homework, planning out the two papers I have due (not for months, but dammit I am going to beast them), and rewarding myself with an hour or two of transposing the shime part for our new taiko piece into actual readable sheet music. A pointless exercise, because I'm the only one in the group who reads music; but fun. I want to finish the whole score by the end of the month.
I also Skyped with my brother, Ruya and T.J. (but not at the same time |D)! First I've talked to Ruya and T.J. since I left, except for occasional texts. T.J. is happily installed in her fancy private arts academy, learning Russian literature and composition; goddamn she's so cool. Good to know she hasn't given up on our mutual impossible dream of sharing an apartment in New York. Someday soon we're going to try to play duets over Skype. This may or may not work out. XD My brother and I sang together, as we've been planning to do. Unfortunately, video-lag on his end fucked with it, but eh. We'll try again.
Ruya got more hilarious with the addition of college to her life. "Eeeeeeh, all the Asians here know how to get legit fake ID. But it's too expensive. They special-order from New York. And my parents don't think it's funny when I ask them to take me to strip club. :D" She's taking a class where they just watch Miyazaki movies and writes essays about them, which has me jealous enough to fly back and shake her until they let me into Emory.
Best part of yesterday evening: Got a FB message from the DB, sent out to our group of friends - I got asked to room with people next year! We're looking at condos within biking distance of school, and it's gonna be so amazing, and aaaaaaaaah I'm so happy that there are people who like me enough to ask me if I want to live with them!! Because that group is just. So damn cool. And I already foresee that us all living together will be incredible. And I'm not homeless for next year. |D
Okay. Time to go be productive some more. Ooh I have no real free time but somehow I don't mind it at all this week. Deciding next semester's classes (GONNA TAKE CHINESE AW YEAH) and searching for apartment deals in Norman? Worth my time. <3
