The Friday Five - Dinner Party

Aug 05, 2005 08:30

I swear I have done this thefridayfive before...

1. If you could invite five people to dinner from history, living or dead, who would they be?
Off the top of my head and in no particular order, Mark Twain, Nikola Tesla, Kurt Vonnegut, Philip K Dick.
Edit: Ooops can't count. That's only four. How about my man Johnny Depp as the Fifth Beatle.

2. Why have you chosen these five individuals?
Because I find them fascinating not only for what they did in life but for the way their mind works. I think they would have some interesting conversations sitting around the dinner table.

3. What would you serve for dinner?
Uhmm, let's order in. Swiss Chalet good for everyone?

4. What would you like to ask them?
Hmmm, if I only had one question to ask and I asked them all the same one it would be "What regrets do you have?" If I was going to ask more than one I would probably ask them what inspires them.

5. Do you think everybody seated at the table would get along? Why or why not?
I am pretty sure Twain and Tesla knew each other in real life. I think Vonnegut and Dick would probably end up sparing about writing and SF and Twain would probably have two cents to say about that as well. I think Tesla may be to analytical and focused to appreciate the writer's point of view, but it wold be a lively debate. I think Depp would be studying everyone and dreaming up his next performance based on their tics and what not.

Okay that was fun...
