computer crap
okay well i have to say that things definitely improved since my last [vague] post. maybe i just needed to get out of the house. i went out with ramon and john to kmart.. so friggen funny.. i bought a huge lockable trunk for college and ramon had to carry it all over the store lol. me and john bought lipgloss and then ramon found a better trunk so we left the other one in the middle of the aisle and ran [a classic ramon & amanda move] hahah. then we went to the mall so ramon could buy a bday present for his friend. me & ramon got quartercones from mcdonalds [those are the best!] and i FINALLY found beauty and the beast on dvd!!!! ahhh i was so friggen happy.. i'd been searching for it for months. i even looked all over disneyworld lol.. and there it was, on sale at the disney store in woodbridge. after the mall, we dropped john off, and ramon came back to my house to watch the movie for a bit. shortly after he left, mark came over and i told him about all the problems i've been having with my laptop. it turns out that adware has been slowing my computer down. so a public warning..
if your computer has an excessive amount of popup ads, particularly ones that slow down your browser, or if your computer is just getting slower in general.. SCAN YOUR ENTIRE COMPUTER for something called ADWARE. the online marketing scum have found a way to download files into your computer without your knowledge that cause pop up ads and even track what websites you go to. they're hard to delete once you get them, but there are ways. that's what screwed up my old computer and now it's screwing up my laptop.
so anyway, i found out that iMacs aren't affected by adware or any viruses for that matter, so i decided to send back the HP and get an iBook.
this morning we went to compusa but they didn't really have anything in stock, so we went to the apple store in menlo where i got the BEST DEAL..
i got a 14in iBook G4 with 1.0ghz processor, 40GB hard drive, and 512mb of memory. with the my student discount, i also got a free HP printer and a 40GB iPod for $129 ;D of course everything is after a mail in rebate, but it's still worth it. it's good to be in college ^_^
otherwise, there would be no way i could afford all that. i also paid for the iPod myself, which i didn't mind at all. for something that sold for $399, i think $129 is a pretty good deal.
so now i'm here, cheesin' :o) mark's picking it up on his way home from school tomorrow. ahhhh i can't friggen wait
