Yep, I'm still here ---
Though I've not been feeling well. Two/three nights ago (27th/28th) I went into the ER. For three days I was feeling somewhat pained. My chest was feeling kinda tight, and a bit sore, but I took some tums and it seemed to help a little. But, it got worse, and eventually the pain seeped over into my arm. A bit concerned, Chibi and I went to the ER, at about 10:30 we got there. They immediately took me for the usual blood pressure and whatnot, then did an EKG, the guy said it looked fine, and told me to wait in the waiting room. TWO HOURS LATER, they take me back to a room. Good thing it wasn't anything serious! Two fucking hours, oi. So I go back, talk to one doctor, Mateen Khan (who had some beautiful eyes on him) who said we'd do some X-Rays of my chest to make sure nothing is broken and whatnot.
About an hour later, I go to x-ray. They take two, and then send me back to the room. Half an hour later, Another doctor came in, prior to the x-rays to talk to me about where the pain and discomfort was, if anything made it better or worse, then he left too. So, back from x-ray. Half an hour later, Dr. Khan comes back in. My lungs are fine, no broken bones and my heart is normal size. Well, okay, good to know. So then why do I hurt? What's with the pressure and the tightness and the owching?
I have Costochondritous. Which is an inflamtaion of the junction between cartilage and ribs in the front of the chest. Basically, it's a virus that has caused an infection and thusly inflamed and makes me ouchy. I am on 800 MG of Motrin, for inflamation and the pain. So far it is helping a good bit. No longer making me tired or light headed, I've gotten used to em, it seems. Now it's just a matter of hoping the virus clears up before I go off the pills; if it's a virus at all and not something more serious that will just come back as soon as I go off the pills.
