Merlin, anyone?

So, as some people may know, I spent last night making a shit ton of Merlin gifs. Now I'm talking "Girl, step away from the computer and get outside" amounts. In case anyone else out there is interested I'm posting a link to them here. They're mostly of Morgana (shocking right?) since there are enough people out there already gif-ing the hell out

These are gorgeous! Just curious, what programs do you use for your .gifs?

I use VirtualDub to grab the frames, and then I animate them with GIMP. Both programs are free. It's a little time consuming, but usually gives great results.

Ah ok, thank you! What settings do you save them as? I'm completely blown away by the quality of these, and I'd love to know how to save them so they aren't grainy. :D

The most important thing is really just having a decent quality source video to work with.

And then if you do use GIMP, the key thing is the settings when you convert the colour mode to indexed. Keep it on "generate optimum pallet" and set the colour dithering to "positioned."
