There's some interesting commentary on what NASA's reasoning is after you've taken the quiz.

[contains spoilers. and ranting.]

Here here, David! They ranked the flashlight and heater really low, because they say it's only useful if you're on the dark side of the moon. Well... how do I know I'm not?

And just like the gun bit you mentioned - why are the flares given a free-ride for combustion, while the matches ain't?

1 first-aid kit - Treat injury or sickness. Needles connected to vials of vitamins, medicines, etc. will fit special aperture in NASA space suit
Huh? Thanks for inventing the magic space suit to go along with the magic first aid kit. I looked in my first-aid kit - it contains worthless stuff like splints, gauze, and bandages. Things that clearly have no use for injures on the moon, where you're more likely to perish from a lack of vitamin C.

20m nylon rope - Useful in scaling cliffs and tying injured together
Wha? How do you scale up a cliff with just a rope - am I now going to be lasso'ing cliffs and pulling myself up, like a cartoon cowboy? And what's this about tying the injured together? When did they show up, and why on earth am I tying them together - am I going to be using them as an uncooperative food source? Can't I just feed them some vitamins from the magic first aid kit, so they're healthy again?
