So Monday I went to Monday Night Raw. Josh drove me down there, and paid for my ticket, and for my dinner, and he didn't even expect me to put out. What a guy.

When we came out, my throat was sore from all the hollerin' and hootin' I was doing. I had to put on a good show; we were surrounded by rednecks and small children, all of whom believed that you should always cheer for the good guy, no matter how poor a character he is, or how much cooler his opponent. Josh and I decided to educate the masses.

This, in a way, is a sort of tradition for my family. My dad used to tell Josh and I of the days that Granddaddy would take him to the Memphis Pyramid. They'd sit in the cheap seats (as we did), and cheer for Mr. Bad Guy himself, Jerry "The King" Lawler (as we did), and probably endanger himself amongst the ignorant masses that surrounded him (as we sure as hell did -- I gave Edge a standing ovation after he cheated to beat John Cena).

But anyways. The point is, my throat was sore.

The soreness continued for the next two days as a tickle. Towards the end of Wednesday, my nose began to run, and my head started to hurt. It was fairly obvious that I was getting sick.

And then, Thursday morning, I woke up feeling that something wasn't quite right. I was prepared for the full-on flu symptoms that I was experiencing, but something was up with my face. It felt weird, in both its existence and to the touch. I went to the mirror and shrieked. The right side of my jaw had swelled to about 3 times its normal size. Oh, and my tooth, right beyond my swollen cheek, was chipped.

I didn't have work. I made an icepack, I took lots of Ibuprofen, and I laid on the couch until Tangee got home.

(She, by the way, insists that I fell down some stairs, but, um...I've said too much.)

She, being the sensible person that she is, decided that a doctor might be a good thing for me. We made it to a minor medical clinic. I got diagnosed with a rather severe sinus infection. I got antibiotics. The next day, my jaw had shrunk, but was still swollen; there has been no change in it since then, save for the fact that, this morning, it seemed to have temporarily spread to the right corner of my mouth.

We're still not entirely certain how a sinus infection would cause a swelling that HUGE. The doctor claims that the infection is somehow causing a reaction in the fat under the skin of my face. I have my own theory, though, and no one seems quite sure how that would happen. Plus, the doctor seemed rather rushed in making his diagnosis. And what about the cracked tooth? There is no pain involved with said molar, but surely a sinus infection would not be able to crack my tooth in two.

Stay tuned, viewers; this sleuth is hot on the case, and will keep you informed as the issue develops.
