Lamorak, while not quite well, is finally fed up enough being still that cabin fever has set in. So he convinces himself that it's a good idea to go retrieve his sword. He leaves a note in his room, should Percy or Dinadan stop by, saying not to worry, he's gone out, but he's being very careful. He doesn't know much about vampire lore, but he takes a cross with him, as it's a good catch-all protection against monsters, and heads out.
Though he visits his horse, making sure the animal is well-cared for, he decides to go on foot. Quieter, and frankly his horse wouldn't have been much help last time either. It's dusk, and he's being very, very cautious. He has a knife, and a torch, though it's not yet lit.
