Breakup Blues

Apr 20, 2008 22:46

Lamorak is, in the best tradition of messy breakups, making his way to the kitchens with the intention of getting roaring drunk.  He's sober for now, though, and might actually welcome some company, depending on who it is.

Aghaghaghagh is approximately Gaheris' reaction, and a muttered, "Hell--"; he attempts to move out of the way, but, having the agility of a thrown brick, ends up smashing his hip against the corner side of the table and doubling up with momentary pain.

"Oh, Jesu, man. Watch where you're going."

"Damn it, me?" he manages.

"I'll go. I'd not pick a fight with you, or Sir Mordred, lord. I am done with the lot of you."

Gaheris pauses. "Mordred? What's he got to do with it?"

"He told me to stay away from you."

"God! I don't need him to--I can talk to anyone I want. God." He frowns, and says, "What are you about? I'll go with you."

"Oh Lord in heaven. I'm going to get drunk, if you must know."

"Fine. I've half a mind myself."

"...fine." He resumes moving for the kitchen.

Gaheris follows him determinedly, still half-frowning.

When he gets there he goes straight for hard liquor, a sort of whiskey-like beverage he's used to from Wales. He leaves Gaheris to fetch his own alcohol.

Gaheris opts for practicality in the form of straight bourbon, and pours a small glass. It tastes infinitely better than the Southern Comfort.

Lamorak is silent for a long while, drinking with a mind to get drunk.

Since that was only moderately Gaheris' aim--he's upset about Cimorene, but more upset about Lynet--he drinks more slowly, swishing the liquid in the glass with his finger.

Finally, "Why?"
