I wish you would have told me you were visiting. I'm actually still on campus even though it is spring break because of my job.

1. Campus is gorgeous (the Times thinks so too)
2. If you're worried about rich kids, there are about 2000 out of 2100 here. But there are so many amazing people, they cancel them out.
3. Good Networking school
4. tons of options, you can pretty much do whatever you want and the faculty are going to help you get there 400%
5. Tuition is going up again for new "improvements"
6. Price is the biggest downside. I don't know about you but that's my biggest problem.
7. Classes are small
8. School is notorious for having hard classes with lots of homework. So far proven true (pre-med trail is sucking) Not impossible though. Just have to want to do it.
9. 85% out of state with about 10% international I think. Definitely a place to make friends from all over the country. I'm the only Virginian in my hall.
10. Close to the city, but not close enough to worry about the crime. Can leave your stuff almost anywhere and it will still be there the next day
11. Guaranteed housing all 4 years. Most people live on campus all four years. I'll be an RA next year so I'm all for the housing

Basically I had a hard time adjusting here, but once you find your place you don't want to leave. The richness of the school is definitely a turn off and you'll meet some of the dumbest people you can imagine that are here because their family made a donation. it's small but it means that people actually know you're here. The dean knows my name, my major, where I'm from and actually checks in on me. Pretty cool that when I graduate I can have a personal letter of rec from the dean.
So I guess that's my plug for the university? If you want to know anything else just let me know. I know people in both the music department and the english department and they both love them.

PS if you come here, you have to take CORE and it is the devil to begin with and then you get the hang of it. +side= you can buy my books for much much cheaper than the bookstore. :)
