Can someone explain to me what the fuck is the difference between “Screamo” and “Emo”.
What, is one slightly more shit that the other?
That fact that one exists is bad enough; I don’t think I could handle two.
This new “Emo” movement is the latest musical trend that I have noticed.
It seems to me that the self same little suburbanites that started on “Gangsta” rap, realized that they where the butt end of jokes for their cultural misappropriation, and decided to make their own brand of crap. Which consists of mediocre guitar riffs, whining and lamenting of utterly pointless “cry-me-a-river” topics, and the poorest excuse for a growl (more of a whine) I have ever heard so as to turn up their “tough kid” factor. Mix together with the self important title of so called “emotional music” and you have Emo. A pussyfied, poor-mans Hardcore.
Even its pompous title irks me. Just what make this music so goddamn emotional? Nothing, all music is emotional you dumb bastards.
It would have been infinitely more fitting to call it “Whine-o”.
But then perhaps the Jell-o people might get pissed.
