Fluuuuuuuuuuff tiem get. Set in theskytides, on a nice random night~It was no big surprise that recent events had left Hijikata quite busy. With everything that had been happening in the last few weeks and especially in the last few days, there had been almost zero time for the boatswain to rest. The swordsman had to attend to one thing after another in a ( Read more... )

That wasn't surprising. Roy sighed, feigning exasperation, disguising his fondness as well as he could. The alchemist then shrugged off his coat, kicked off his boots and moved over.

"Shove."

The samurai let go when Roy moved, watching him as he took off his coat and boots and then blinking at the one word command, taking a moment for the word to sink into his mind before he did as asked - moving more to the side of his bed so that the alchemist would have space to move in.

Roy shifted about in order to get comfortable, considered things for just a moment, and then moved to wrap his arms around his twin and draw him close. He shifted up, in order to plop his chin on the other's head and rest his chest against the other's back.

"...Your bed is small."

Hijikata made no protest as he was wrapped around, only accepting the warmth and closeness and snuggled up a bit closer when he could, relaxing visibly in his brother's arms. Wrapped around in this warmth, if only took mere seconds before the swordsman was beginning to fight not to doze off too quickly.

"Never saw any reason to change it."

"You ought to. It's a little bit too hard as well. Might be bad for your back."

"M'used to it." Hijikata shifted a little closer, resting his head in the crook of his brother's neck before he let out a tired yawn. "Don't worry about it."

"I'm going to change it anyway," Roy murmured, as he watched the other snuggle around a little more.

The younger twin only made a wordless sound of acknowledgement at that, far too exhausted to even be coherent as he rested well against his brother and snuggled comfortably.

"S'long as you like it."

And that time, Roy did not answer in words - he could feel Hijikata relaxing more and more, and he did not wish to keep the other boatswain up any longer.

The alchemist only drew his twin brother in a little closer and held perfectly still.

With the warmth and the silence with him now, it wasn't long before Hijikata gave in to his exhaustion finally and it was only in a matter of minutes before the man was out like a light. He relaxed entirely against Roy, eyelids drooping close as his breaths evened out to a rhythmic pace.

And Roy, for his part, DID try his best to stay awake. Really. Because someone had to make sure that Hijikata slept.

Suffice to say, the will was weak, and damn: Hijikata was warm and nice-smelling and good to snuggle up against.
