sheeeatt!
So some days one should really not bother getting out of bed! lol... This morning got off to a terrible start for me.... I went out to dig out my car to get it ready to go to work later tonight... see last night the foot and a half of snow we had on our roof of the apartment building came off... it's been quite warm the last couple days and yesterday it even rained and my parking space is right under the main roof... and of course we all know the snow is going to come off the roof so we park a few feet back but the way it came off last night... wow... the only way I could've avoided getting hit with it was to not have been in my parking space at all... it covered the hood, windshield and even the roof of the car!! So I'm out there with a shovel and my snow brush trying to get this major wet heavy snow off my car and away from the tires so I can actually get out.... well I brush the snow off the windshield and guess what?! the windshield is totally destroyed!! Not completely caved in or anything but a total crushed mess.... so I guess I need a new one now. (Honestly I needed a new one anyways as I had a crack running the length of the bottom of it and a new one had started about where my rear view sits... maybe that's why it gave in to the snow.. cuz it was already weak in a couple places..... )So I'm not sure whether to cry or laugh... the only good thing about the situation is there is a possibility that the buildings liability insurance will cover it (here's hoping as I don't have comprehensive anymore so it would cost me maybe 400$ for a new windshield, less if I could find a used one) so fingers crossed! Trying to look on the bright side.. as I needed a new window anyways, so if they'll pay for it....
So called in sick for my shift tonight too, as with the glass the way it is probably isn't too safe to drive... and there's no way I'm asking my dad to make 2 trips to Vernon again tonight to drop me off and then come back 4 hours later to pick me up again... for the 4 hours I'm working I'd only make like 35$..... not that I'm upset about not going anyways! lol.... it's going to be so dead in there tonight .... oh, and well we're on the subject of work, got my schedule for next week and I only have 2 shifts!! I work tomorrow from 11-3 to finish up my shifts this week (oh and I can get a ride tomorrow) and then I don't have to go back till next Thurs afternoon for 4 hours.. have Fri off and then work the weekend... What am I going to do with myself for five whole days off?! lol.... Too bad I couldn't hop a bus to AB or something.... So anyways, I'm just taking it easy today, had a hot shower and a nap and am sitting here waiting for peeps to return my phone calls to find out about insurance stuff... the one guy called back and said they were having an actual strata meeting tonight so he'll bring it up with everyone... maybe then put me in contact with the insurance agent and see where we go from there..... story of my life.....
oh and ps... just found out that my grandma was taken back to the hospital last night... she's not been doing very well at all lately... of course doctors don't really know what's wrong.. other than she's really low on something (when grandpa was relaying the story he couldn't remember what) and they were pumping her full of stuff via IV last night... hopefully later today we'll hear some more (good) news!
