There was no echo inside my head
We stood there entranced with each other. Staring deep into those eyes I saw reflected a whole life before me. Tender loving bliss spread out in all directions in a landscape of sublimity. For days on end it seemed I fell into those eyes and just wandered in the warm light that illuminated all things. But soon dark and callous clouds blotted out the sun and a cold hard rain drove me away. I stepped back and suddenly we no longer stood together as a chasm thundered between us. Those eyes closed, that head downturned. Dark cold fear gripped me as she spiraled away into the abyss. As I lay here crushed I but wonder cruel fate has once again choosen me as its toy.
