I'm going through the archives here now (long story why) and found some fascinating books in Jack's collection (for those who don't know the story, my ex was a major opera/broadway buff of the highest order). Included was a 1990 DC Comic of The Ring (see pic below). A friend on FB said I shouldn't be surprised that Jack had that and I wasn't - I was just amazed that DC Comics made the thing, and a series of them at that. But fear not I'm not going to bore you by posting the whole Ring Cycle here. But it did get me thinking about one of his favorites and I was pleased to find that someone had posted a little slideshow video to go with this version of the love duet from Madama Butterfly recorded by Renata Tebaldi and Carlo Bergonzi -- names from the 50s and 60s, but to those who are into Opera, still highly regarded and even revered to this day. Be sure to listen to the end for it is that music that really got my heart to fully appreciate opera.
