Before you read this, Yeah, I'm weeks late, sorry been busy with Summer school. -_- Just so you know I drew the picture above and most of the pics below were taken by Mlarad.
The event was exclusive to people who got the passes from The Sonic Stadium or Sonic Retro. People who didn't have passes could also come. The place was big enough to hold more people than it did. Near the Club Nokia, there were rings leading to where the place was. When I saw T-Bird, DreadKnux, and Aaron Webber, I noticed it was HEAVEN.
I brought my 1994 Sonic Plushies for nostalgic reasons. Notice the notice.
This is the line from my back. I expected a lot more people to show up on time. I think Sega Expected more people too. I talked to a dude who was wondering if hyper shadow was really it's name. I couldn't give him a real answer. We ended up talking about Sonic 3 somehow.
While we went inside, there were some photographers (Possibly from the Press) taking pictures of everyone. We appreciated the time and took our own photos.
Maggifan and Miguel being awesome as usual.
The inside was amazing. It was full with screens projecting sonic trailers, generations demos, and a DJ playing regular non-sonic music.
Everyone had at least one chance to play the game. They gave everyone a free Sonic hat so it was normal to see people with one.
...
The walls were decorated with sonic artworks, those you'd usually see on the internet a lot. It wasn't really a priority photographing.
The place eventually got full of different types of people. Some brought their rarest Sonic gear and objects.
BLUE
There were also people in sonic costumes.
I want to kill myself for this.
The colors of this place reminded me SO much of the
SEGAWORLD in Sidney. The shifting colors from blue to purple to red to green to blue again gave it a retro look to it.
I was unsure of what anyone expected out of this event.
There was also a bar or something that sold drinks and had sonic themed coasters (I grabbed some).
Literally everyone here had a good time.
Since the beginning of the event, there was an artist doing a Sonic 20th Anniversary painting by hand.
These trailers kept popping up every time. Like we haven't seen them before.
The first thing I did when I grabbed the controller. I waited 20 years for this.
Totally Worth it.
I set the cuties like I always wanted my TV screen to look.
Got an "S". I was amazed. It's really easy to get an S in this game.
Enjoying it as much as possible.
Was actually trying to make sonic suicide. Didn't work.
By the way, even thought
sonic CD is an awesome game,
it's also creepy as HELL. Miguel playing the generations demo. Me making the classic
sonic flipping off. Me with Sonic's creator. Mr. Naka-san!!! Lively as usual.
YEP. MY DREAM GOAL FINALLY CAME TRUE. SONIC ADVENTURE SIGNED PERSONALLY BY YUJI NAKA AND JUN SENOUE (not pictured)
Mlarad Finally got an "S" in a sonic game. Yay.
If the cakes are lies then cupcakes are sweet.
After a while, Aaron webber (AKA RubyEclipse) started gathering people into the center, claiming there would be a musical appereance. I WASN'T PREPARED.
He called on stage Mr. Iizuka and the dude directing sonic generations (forgot his name) talking about their experiences working on sonic and a
possible demo in the future.
After a while, Jun senoue started playing the sonic 4's
splash hill themes and
main theme. I almost cried I dunno why.
The
intro music from sonic adventure started playing while jun played the lead guitar.
Then... out of nowhere...
OPEN YOUR HEART Crush 40's own Johnny Gioeli!!!
They played the sonic adventure intro song, Sonic heroes, what I'm made of, Free, This world, and several others.
Then the dude from Cash Cash sang the sonic colors ending song "Speak with your heart". They also played Super sonic racing and the classic song Sonic Boom.
Then...
They played "Escape from the city". One of my most favorite songs that As a perfect ending to the concert, they played LIVE AND LEARN. Perfect.
This is literally the first and possibly the final time I'll hear crush 40 live. A dream come true.
I can't believe Johnny Gioeli sounds the same live, I mean, the dude's been doing this over 12 years, I was amazed.
"In this world (His world!) Where compromise does not exist. In his world of worlds, every step meets the rest!"
"Don't fall apart, To speak with your heart! And always take it with you back to the start!"
The trio.
Maggifan always looking awesome.
We got exclusive T-shirts. Believe it or not, These things sell
very well. Funny that there were boxes and boxes of these things. In the end, they only ended opening like four boxes, leaving A LOT of shirts behind. Sega Might give them away in sweeptakes later on. I should have grabbed more.
Everyone having a good time. Playing with my plushies.
Then just went back and chilled out. And ate more cupcakes.
I couldn't feel anything by this point. Literally. I couldn't even smile right.
The dudes that won the
Sonic 4 contest made a live version of their musical.
Along with a classic sonic bit. The costume contest. Maggifan participated in the contest. Till this day, it's very unknown who exactly won, the sonic suit guy, Charmy the Bee or the Blaze Cosplay.
The original SONIC TEAM wishing sonic a happy birthday. They made us scream HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC. They say it's going to appear in generations. Somehow.
EDIT: It does appear. I'm unsure if it's from this or Summer of Sonic.
LOL.
The artist finishing up his masterpiece.
Jun Senoue and his Guitar.
The whole SONIC TEAM presenting the artwork. They made us all yell SEGA. I yelled in a very high pitch voice. =p
The event came to a close. We had a little time-attack race between each other. I Ended up winning. Then they literally kicked us out. Some people took the displays home with them.
I'm not the only one who will remember this day.
Best Way Past Cool Day Ever.
